Because using Hypnosis to help you stop smoking is so popular, there has been research after research undertaken.
The most widely quoted research was undertaken as part of his PHD by research student Chockalingham Viswesvaran from the University of Iowa.
To find the most effective method to stop smoking he conducted a meta-analysis from the results of more than 600 studies totalling nearly 72,000 people.
The results, which were published in the Journal of Applied Psychology and included 48 studies of hypnosis covering 6000 smokers, clearly showed that hypnosis was three times more effective than Nicotine Replacement Therapy.
Willpower alone contributed a poor 6% success rate, and Nicotine Replacement Therapy 10%, the least successful method was strangely "Advice from GP's".
On the strength of this and through further investigations, previous critics of Hypnosis have begun to understand the science behind it and now promote it.
My fee is £200 and usually involves just 1 double session of between 90 mins and 2 hours with audio support.
Previous clients have found that this is usually plenty, and I am so confident that it is that if you feel that you are struggling, even up to 3 months afterwards, I will not charge for another session and will see you free of charge.
